Description
A delightful blend of rich coffee and chocolate, topped with whipped cream, perfect for coffee lovers.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups milk (whole, skim, or your choice)
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup brewed strong coffee (or 1 shot of espresso)
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Whipped cream (for topping)
- Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until steaming, but not boiling. Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cocoa powder and sugar together. Add a few tablespoons of the hot milk to the cocoa mixture and stir until smooth to create a chocolate paste.
- Pour the chocolate paste back into the saucepan with the remaining milk and whisk until well combined and frothy.
- Brew your coffee or espresso and pour it into a large mug. Add the vanilla extract and stir.
- Slowly pour the chocolate milk mixture over the coffee, stirring gently to combine.
- Top with whipped cream and sprinkle chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder for garnish.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate syrup instead of cocoa powder and sugar.
- Experiment with flavored syrups like peppermint or hazelnut for a unique twist on the classic mocha.
