Description
A delicious and healthy Chicken Wonton Bowl recipe that combines ground chicken, vegetables, and crispy wonton wrappers.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 cup chopped green onions
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1 package (12 ounces) wonton wrappers
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and ginger, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in shredded carrots, green onions, and frozen peas. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- Pour in soy sauce and sesame oil, stirring to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
- While the chicken mixture cools slightly, prepare the wonton wrappers. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Lightly grease a muffin tin. Press each wonton wrapper into the cups of the muffin tin to form a bowl shape.
- Bake the wonton wrappers in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- Once the wonton bowls are ready, fill each with the chicken mixture. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add a teaspoon of sriracha or red pepper flakes to the chicken mixture.
- Substitute ground chicken with ground turkey or tofu for a different protein option.
