Description
Cucumber Sandwiches with Cream Cheese Spread are a delightful and easy-to-make snack or appetizer, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large cucumber
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried dill)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 slices of white or whole wheat bread
- Optional: lettuce leaves for added crunch
Instructions
- Start by washing the cucumber thoroughly. Slice it thinly into rounds and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, dill, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well blended and creamy.
- Lay out the slices of bread on a clean surface. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on one side of each slice.
- If using, place a layer of lettuce on half of the slices. Top with cucumber slices, arranging them evenly.
- Place the remaining slices of bread on top, cream cheese side down, to create sandwiches.
- Cut each sandwich into quarters or halves, depending on your preference. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 1 hour before serving for a chilled option.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the cream cheese mixture.
- Substitute the dill with fresh chives or parsley for a different flavor profile.
