Description
A delicious and indulgent breakfast bake made with chocolate croissants, perfect for a special morning treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups chocolate croissants, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- Place the cut chocolate croissants evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture over the croissants, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Gently press down with a spatula to help the croissants absorb the liquid.
- Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly over the top.
- Allow the mixture to sit for 15-20 minutes to soak in.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For a fruity twist, add 1 cup of fresh berries (like raspberries or blueberries) to the croissant mixture before baking.
- Substitute almond milk for a dairy-free version and use dairy-free chocolate chips to make it vegan-friendly.
