Description

A refreshing shrimp salad inspired by New York deli flavors, perfect for a light meal or sandwich filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup dill pickles, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lettuce leaves for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, celery, red onion, dill pickles, and fresh dill. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  2. Add the cooked shrimp to the bowl and gently fold them into the mixture until evenly coated.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the flavors as needed.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Serve the shrimp salad on a bed of lettuce leaves or in a sandwich.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a dash of hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the mixture.
  • Substitute the shrimp with canned tuna or chicken for a different protein option.
