Description
A quick and tasty stir-fry featuring savory ground beef and fresh broccoli, perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice or noodles for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the broccoli florets and cook for another 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, beef broth, and sesame oil. Pour this mixture over the beef and broccoli in the skillet.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes or a splash of sriracha to the sauce.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, or use tofu for a vegetarian version.
