A simple and delicious slow cooker recipe for beef and broccoli, perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients

- 1 pound flank steak, sliced thin against the grain
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cooked white rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, minced garlic, minced ginger, sesame oil, beef broth, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Place the sliced flank steak in the slow cooker and pour the sauce mixture over the meat. Stir to coat the beef evenly.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the beef is tender.
- About 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli florets to the slow cooker, stirring to combine with the beef and sauce.
- Once cooked, serve the beef and broccoli over cooked white rice.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, mix an additional tablespoon of cornstarch with a little water and stir it into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Substitute the flank steak with chicken breast or tofu for a different protein option. Adjust cooking times accordingly.
