Description

Tuna Rice Balls are a delicious and easy-to-make snack or meal option, combining rice and tuna with flavorful ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked white rice, cooled
  • 1 can (5 ounces) tuna in water, drained
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Nori sheets, cut into strips (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the cooled rice, drained tuna, mayonnaise, soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions, shredded carrots, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Wet your hands with water to prevent sticking. Take about 2 tablespoons of the mixture and form it into a ball. Repeat until all the mixture is shaped into balls.
  3. Roll each rice ball in panko breadcrumbs for added crunch, if desired.
  4. If using nori, wrap a strip around each rice ball for extra flavor and presentation.
  5. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a teaspoon of sriracha or wasabi to the mixture.
  • Substitute canned salmon or chicken for the tuna for a different flavor profile.
