Description

A refreshing and creamy Thai Iced Tea recipe that combines the rich flavors of black tea with sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 tablespoons loose black tea (or 4 tea bags)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • Ice cubes
  • Star anise or crushed cardamom (optional, for flavor)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the loose black tea or tea bags. Let steep for about 10 minutes.
  3. Strain the tea into a large pitcher to remove the tea leaves or bags.
  4. Stir in the sugar while the tea is still warm, ensuring it dissolves completely.
  5. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled (about 1 hour).
  6. To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over the ice, filling the glass about three-quarters full.
  7. Top with equal parts of evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk to taste. Stir gently to combine.
  8. If desired, add a star anise or a pinch of crushed cardamom for extra flavor.

Notes

  • For a stronger flavor, let the tea steep for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Substitute coconut milk for evaporated milk for a dairy-free version.
