Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Method

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in the sliced mushrooms, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture and stir well to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream until fully incorporated. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Meanwhile, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  8. Serve the beef stroganoff over the cooked egg noodles and garnish with chopped parsley.
