Method
 

  1. In a large pot, combine the water, salt, black pepper, minced garlic, dried thyme, dried rosemary, and bay leaf. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Once boiling, carefully add the chicken breasts to the pot. Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot.
  3. Simmer the chicken for 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  4. Remove the chicken from the pot and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  5. Strain the broth if desired, and use it as a base for soups or sauces.
