 - In a separate bowl, mix the cocoa powder and sugar together. Add a few tablespoons of the hot milk to the cocoa mixture and stir until smooth to create a chocolate paste.
 - Pour the chocolate paste back into the saucepan with the remaining milk and whisk until well combined and frothy.
 - Brew your coffee or espresso and pour it into a large mug. Add the vanilla extract and stir.
 - Slowly pour the chocolate milk mixture over the coffee, stirring gently to combine.
 - Top with whipped cream and sprinkle chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder for garnish.
