  • 1 lb Ground Beef Look for 80/20 for great flavor.
Sauce
  • 1 medium Onion Use yellow or sweet onion for best results.
  • 2 cups Pasta Sauce Homemade or store-bought works.
Creamy Layers
  • 15 oz Ricotta Cheese Substitute with cottage cheese for a lighter option.
  • 3 cups Shredded Mozzarella Save some for the final layer.
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Swap with Pecorino Romano for a sharper taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Soak lasagna noodles in hot water for about 20 minutes.
  2. Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add chopped onion and sauté for another 2 minutes.
  4. Combine pasta sauce and ricotta cheese in the skillet and heat for 5 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Assembly and Baking
  1. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce mixture in a baking pan.
  2. Layer three soaked noodles, followed by mozzarella and Parmesan. Repeat twice more.
  3. Cover with foil and bake for 45-55 minutes.
  4. Remove foil and broil for 2-3 minutes for a golden finish.
  5. Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
