Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked rice white or brown
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger minced
  • 1 package 12 ounces wonton wrappers
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish optional

Method

  1. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and ginger, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in shredded carrots, green onions, and frozen peas. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  4. Pour in soy sauce and sesame oil, stirring to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
  5. While the chicken mixture cools slightly, prepare the wonton wrappers. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  6. Lightly grease a muffin tin. Press each wonton wrapper into the cups of the muffin tin to form a bowl shape.
  7. Bake the wonton wrappers in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  8. Once the wonton bowls are ready, fill each with the chicken mixture. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
