Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup ketchup plus extra for topping
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
  3. Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread half of this mixture over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. After 30 minutes, spread the remaining ketchup mixture on top.
  6. Continue baking until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  7. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
