Step-by-Step Instructions for Comfort Food Casserole
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Layer the beef mixture in the baking dish and sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  5. Arrange frozen tater tots over the cheese layer, pressing slightly.
  6. Add the remaining mozzarella cheese on top of the tater tots.
