Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
Mash the avocados with a fork or potato masher until creamy but still slightly chunky.
Add lime juice, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and chipotle powder to the bowl. Mix until well combined.
Gently fold in the diced tomato, red onion, cilantro, and jalapeño (if using).
Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more lime juice or chipotle powder if desired.
Serve immediately with tortilla chips or cover with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning if not serving right away.
