  1. Prepare Ingredients: Gather all ingredients. Cut the chicken and soak the basmati rice for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Sauté Chicken: Heat oil in a skillet. Add chicken and sauté for 6-8 minutes until browned.
  3. Make the Sauce: Lower heat, add cream cheese, paprika, cumin, and oregano. Stir in buttermilk if using and cook until creamy.
  4. Combine Rice and Chicken: Drain rice and add to the pan. Stir until rice is coated with sauce, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Simmer: Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  6. Serve and Garnish: Plate the dish and garnish with parsley. Serve warm.
