Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. If using frozen squid, defrost overnight and pat dry. Clean and slice whole squid into rings.
  2. Mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Dredge squid rings in the flour mixture, ensuring each piece is fully coated.
  4. Heat oil in a pot, around 2 inches deep, to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry squid in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Drain cooked squid on paper towels.
  7. Mix mayonnaise and minced garlic for dipping sauce.
  8. Serve squid garnished with lemon wedges.
