  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Place the cut chocolate croissants evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the croissants, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Gently press down with a spatula to help the croissants absorb the liquid.
  5. Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly over the top.
  6. Allow the mixture to sit for 15-20 minutes to soak in.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired.
