Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large pot, heat a splash of oil over medium heat and sauté one finely chopped onion and two diced tomatoes for about 5–7 minutes until onions are translucent and tomatoes soften.
  2. Add in about 1 pound of diced turkey and stir well. Brown for 10 minutes until golden.
  3. Sprinkle in your desired seasonings and let simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring regularly.
  4. Add any additional vegetables and cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. Fold in 1-2 cups of sliced fresh okra, cooking for 3–5 minutes.
  6. Add about 1 pound of shrimp and cook for 3–5 minutes until they turn pink.
  7. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary, and let simmer for another 2 minutes before serving.
