Step-by-Step Instructions for Taco Bake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the lean ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Add the taco seasoning mix and diced tomatoes to the beef. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Line the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish with half of the corn tortillas, overlapping slightly.
- Spoon the beef mixture over the tortillas, spreading it evenly.
- Layer the remaining tortillas on top of the beef mixture and spread salsa over them.
- Sprinkle shredded Colby cheese over the top layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
