  • 1/4 cup Corn starch could be replaced with more flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder ensure freshness
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon zest or lime zest
For the Buttercream Frosting
  • 1/2 cup Softened butter at room temperature
  • 3 cups Powdered sugar sifted for smoother texture
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence preferably pure

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, corn starch, baking powder, and lemon zest.
  3. Cream butter, shortening, and sugar together for 3-4 minutes until light and fluffy.
  4. Add in egg, vanilla, and almond essence and beat until smooth.
  5. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut out bunny shapes.
  7. Bake for 9-10 minutes, letting them cool on wire racks afterward.
  8. Prepare buttercream frosting by mixing softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla.
  9. Decorate cooled cookies with the frosting and additional decorations as desired.
