Equipment

  • microwave
  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • Large Bowl
  • Styrofoam Block

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Cake: Bake your choice of vanilla or chocolate cake according to package instructions or your favorite recipe. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack for about 30-40 minutes.
  2. Crumble the Cake: Crumble the cooled cake into fine pieces in a large bowl, resembling sand, using your fingers or a fork.
  3. Mix the Ingredients: Gradually add frosting to the cake crumbs, mixing until you reach a dough-like consistency.
  4. Shape the Trees: Shape the mixture into cone-shaped trees about 2-3 inches high and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for 30 minutes.
  5. Melt the Coating: Melt the green candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. Optionally add coconut oil for a thinner consistency.
  6. Insert the Sticks: Dip the end of each cake pop stick into the melted candy and insert it into the base of each tree. Freeze again for 10 minutes.
  7. Dip the Cake Pops: Dip each cake pop into the green candy coating, allowing excess to drip off.
  8. Decorate with Delight: While the coating is wet, add sprinkles and drizzle with melted white chocolate. Let pops dry completely in a Styrofoam block or marshmallow.
