Ingredients

For the Pastry
  • 1 package Frozen Puff Pastry Thaw and keep cold for a flaky texture.
For the Filling
  • 6 Large Eggs Fresh eggs create a rich, fluffy filling.
  • 0.5 cup Half-and-Half or Whole Milk Adds creaminess; milk can substitute but reduces richness.
  • 1 cup Shredded Swiss Cheese Provides a nutty flavor, essential for the soufflé experience.
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese Enhances richness and color; mozzarella or Gouda can be used instead.
  • 0.5 cup Diced Chicken Ham or Turkey Ham Adds savory goodness; opt for pork-free for halal-friendly options.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic Powder Infuses flavor without overpowering the filling.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Onion Powder Complements the egg mixture beautifully.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Essential for enhancing flavor.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper Adds a touch of spice.

  • oven
  • Jumbo muffin pan or ramekins
  • mixing bowls

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a jumbo muffin pan or six ramekins with non-stick spray.
  2. Thaw the frozen puff pastry while the oven heats up, then roll it out slightly on a floured surface.
  3. Press the pastry squares into each muffin cup, allowing edges to hang over.
  4. Dice your chicken or turkey ham, then shred the Swiss and cheddar cheese.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, half-and-half or milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  6. Fold in the shredded cheeses and diced ham into the egg mixture.
  7. Fill the pastry-lined muffin cups with the egg mixture until three-quarters full.
  8. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top and fold pastry edges over slightly. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool for 5 minutes, gently lift out the soufflés, and serve warm.
