  2. In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of granulated sugar, 1 cup of light corn syrup, 1 cup of water, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  3. Attach a candy thermometer and increase the heat to high. Boil without stirring until it reaches 270°F.
