Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare a Steam Bath by boiling water in a pot and placing a heat-safe bowl on top to melt butter, honey, and sugar.
  2. Melt ingredients in the steam bath, stirring until a glossy mixture is formed (5-7 minutes).
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with baking soda until frothy. Combine this with the melted mixture.
  4. Place the combined ingredients back over the steam bath and cook for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat, cool for 10 minutes, and gradually mix in flour until the dough is sticky.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Divide the dough into 12-14 portions and roll each piece into thin circles (1/8 inch thick).
  8. Bake each circle for 5-7 minutes until golden, then cool completely on a wire rack.
  9. Make the frosting by beating cream cheese and butter, then folding in dulce de leche and whipped cream.
  10. Layer and assemble the cake by frosting each layer and refrigerating overnight for best flavor.
