Preparation Steps
- Begin by halving and coring 4 to 6 firm apples. Carve whimsical faces into the apple halves.

- Combine 2 cups of water with 1 tablespoon of citric acid. Soak the apple halves for about 5 minutes.

- Preheat oven to 200°F. Arrange the soaked apple halves on a baking sheet and bake for about 3 hours.

- Increase oven temperature to 350°F. Fit the pie crust into a tart pan and bake for 10 minutes.

- Place the shrunken apple heads into the shell, filling gaps with walnuts and cranberries. Drizzle with honey and orange juice.
