Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Bain-Marie by boiling 1/2 cup of water in a small pot over medium heat. Place a heatproof bowl on top, ensuring it doesn't touch the water.
  2. Melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter and 4 cups of regular marshmallows in the bowl, stirring continuously for 2 to 4 minutes until smooth and glossy.
  3. Remove the bowl and let it cool slightly. Then, add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and red food coloring, whisking until fully integrated.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, pour in 6 cups of Rice Bubbles and drizzle the melted marshmallow mixture over them, mixing until evenly coated.
  5. Lightly oil your hands and mold portions into oval-shaped 'brains'. Use a butter knife to create dents and draw veins with a toothpick dipped in coloring.
  6. Store finished treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
