Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Fold in the mini chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Using a small cookie scoop or your hands, form the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Gently flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass or your fingers.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
