Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in the mini chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Using a small cookie scoop or your hands, form the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Gently flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass or your fingers.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a fun twist, try adding a teaspoon of almond extract instead of vanilla for a different flavor profile.
  • You can substitute half of the mini chocolate chips with chopped nuts or dried fruit for added texture and flavor.
