  • 1 box White Cake Mix Any flavor for variations
  • 3 large Eggs Essential for the structure
  • 1 cup Water As per package instructions
  • 1 package Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix Enhances moisture
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Adds tanginess and moisture
  • 1 cup Red, White, and Blue Sprinkles Add vibrant color
For the Filling
  • 1/2 tub Vanilla Frosting Holds the mixture together
For Coating and Decoration
  • 12 oz White Wafer Melts Outer coating, can substitute
  • 1 tube Red and Blue Icing For decoration
  • 1 cup Red, White, and Blue Sprinkles and Stars Customize decorations

Equipment

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray a 9x13 inch pan with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the white cake mix, eggs, water, instant vanilla pudding mix, and sour cream, blending until smooth.
  3. Gently fold in the red, white, and blue sprinkles and pour the cake batter into the prepared pan.
  4. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely.
  5. Once the cake is cool, crumble half of it into a large mixer bowl and add half a tub of vanilla frosting, mixing on low speed until combined.
  6. Melt the white wafer melts and brush the inside of your cakesicle molds with the melted wafers. Freeze for 3-5 minutes.
  7. Add a second layer of melted wafers, freeze again, then fill molds with the cakesicle mixture, pressing down gently.
  8. Seal filled molds with melted chocolate and freeze for at least 20-30 minutes.
  9. Carefully remove the cakesicles from molds and decorate with red and blue icing and additional sprinkles.
  10. Serve chilled for a perfect summer dessert!
