Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional
  • Sea salt for topping

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the banana mixture, stirring until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the salted caramel sauce and nuts, if using. Reserve a couple of tablespoons of caramel for drizzling on top.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Drizzle the reserved caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt.
  7. Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
