  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 cup tomato sauce or tomato paste
For the Yogurt Sauce
  • 1 cup plain full fat yogurt do not blend
  • 2 tablespoons tahini optional
  • 1 clove garlic crushed
  • 1 teaspoon dried mint adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
For Toppings
  • 1/4 cup toasted pine nuts toast in advance
  • fresh herbs (e.g., parsley, mint) for garnish

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted water according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and drizzle with olive oil.
  2. Sauté the onions in olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until translucent and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet, cook for 5-7 minutes until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  4. Season with allspice, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Add tomato sauce and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Combine yogurt, tahini, garlic, dried mint, and lemon juice in a medium bowl, mixing by hand.
  6. Toast pine nuts in a small pan over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until golden and fragrant.
  7. Assemble by layering pasta, beef mixture, and yogurt sauce, then topping with pine nuts and fresh herbs.
