  • 2 pounds Chicken Breasts Cut into pieces for sliders
  • 1 cup Buttermilk Substitute with milk mixed with lemon juice if needed
  • 1 large Egg For coating
  • 1 dash Hot Sauce For marinating chicken
  • 2 tablespoons Pickle Juice For marinating chicken
For the Buns
  • 12 count Hawaiian Slider Buns Soft, sweet rolls; brioche buns are an alternative
  • 2 tablespoons Butter For toasting buns
For the Sauce & Toppings
  • 1/2 cup Hot Honey For unique sweet-spicy flavor
  • 1/2 cup Pickles Bread and butter pickles recommended
  • 6 slices Gouda Cheese Can substitute with Pepper Jack, Provolone or Cheddar
For the Coating
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour For crispy coating
  • 1/2 cup Cornstarch Enhances crunchiness
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika For seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder For seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder For seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
For the Garlic Butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced; fresh garlic is best
  • 1 tablespoon Parsley Chopped; for freshness
For the Dressing
  • 1/2 cup Ranch Dressing
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, hot sauce, and pickle juice. Add chicken pieces, cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  2. In another bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, and seasonings. Stir well to blend evenly.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Dredge marinated chicken in the flour mixture until fully coated and fry in hot oil for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. In a small saucepan, combine hot honey, ketchup, hot sauce, vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Simmer and thicken with cornstarch slurry.
  6. Brush Hawaiian slider buns with melted garlic butter and broil until golden. Assemble sliders with ranch aioli, fried chicken, cheese, and pickles.
  7. Transfer assembled sliders to the oven and bake at 350°F for 3-5 minutes until cheese melts.
