Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty, about ¾-inch thick.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes until cooked through.
- In the same skillet, sauté onions and butter over medium-low heat for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Sprinkle flour over the onions, stir for 2-3 minutes, then gradually whisk in beef broth. Add Worcestershire sauce and thyme, simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
- Return cooked patties to the skillet and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Serve hot with gravy, paired with mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes
Let patties rest after cooking to retain juices. Avoid over-mixing ingredients for tender patties.
