Step-by-Step Instructions for Easy Taco Casserole
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and gather your baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown 1 pound of ground beef for about 7-10 minutes. Drain fat, stir in 1 can of drained canned tomatoes and taco seasoning.
  3. Layer half of the crushed tortilla chips in the bottom of the baking dish.
  4. Spread the beef mixture over the tortilla chips, and sprinkle half of the shredded cheese on top.
  5. Layer the remaining tortilla chips on top of the beef and cheese layer.
  6. Spoon the remaining beef mixture over the last layer of tortilla chips and top with the remaining shredded cheese.
  7. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
