Preparation Steps
- Prepare the skulls by pressing fresh mozzarella pearls into skull molds firmly.
- Melt the filled molds in the microwave for 20–30 seconds or in a preheated oven at 350°F for 6–8 minutes.
- Absorb any excess liquid by pressing paper towels on the melted mozzarella.
- Chill the molds in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
- Unmold the skull-shaped mozzarella carefully.
- Mix the unmolded mozzarella skulls with halved cherry tomatoes in a large bowl.
- Dress the salad by drizzling with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then sprinkle salt and black pepper.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves and toasted pine nuts before serving.
