Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute, then stir in the tomato sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Boil salted water in a large pot, add egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 7-9 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream and cottage cheese, then season with salt and pepper.
  6. Fold the drained egg noodles into the creamy mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  7. Layer half of the noodle mixture in the greased baking dish, followed by half of the meat sauce. Repeat the layers.
  8. Top with grated cheddar cheese and bake for about 30 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let the casserole cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
