  • 1 piece Prime Rib Roast Bone-in cut for maximum flavor and tenderness
  • 1 cup Butter Room temperature for easy application
  • 2 tablespoons Salt Kosher salt preferred
  • 1 tablespoon Pepper Freshly cracked for best results

  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Herbs Thyme or rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper or Chili Flakes

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter until smooth and spreadable.
  3. Generously apply the softened butter all over the prime rib roast.
  4. Evenly sprinkle kosher salt and freshly cracked pepper over the buttered roast.
  5. Place the seasoned roast into your Dutch oven, fat-side up, and roast for 15 minutes.
  6. Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (163°C) and roast for about 10 to 12 minutes per pound.
  7. Once cooked, let the roast rest inside the Dutch oven for 1 to 2 hours.
  8. Carefully slice the roast and serve, optionally garnished with fresh thyme or roasted garlic.
