Cooking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream the butter until smooth and spreadable.
- Generously apply the softened butter all over the prime rib roast.
- Evenly sprinkle kosher salt and freshly cracked pepper over the buttered roast.
- Place the seasoned roast into your Dutch oven, fat-side up, and roast for 15 minutes.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (163°C) and roast for about 10 to 12 minutes per pound.
- Once cooked, let the roast rest inside the Dutch oven for 1 to 2 hours.
- Carefully slice the roast and serve, optionally garnished with fresh thyme or roasted garlic.
