  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil For frying.
For the Coating
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour Use gluten-free flour for gluten-free version.
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper Optional.
For the Wet Layer
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
For the Dipping Sauce
  • 1 cup Ranch Dressing For serving.

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Clean and slice the mushrooms into about ¼-inch thick slices.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine all coating ingredients and whisk together.
  3. Dip each mushroom slice into the buttermilk until fully coated.
  4. Toss the buttermilk-dipped mushrooms into the coating mixture for even coverage.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry mushrooms in small batches for about 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Drain fried mushrooms on paper towels for excess oil.
  8. Serve hot with ranch dressing for dipping.
