Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • mixing bowl
  • spatula

Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients: 1.5 cups of all-purpose flour, 1.5 cups of old-fashioned oats, 1 cup of brown sugar, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of baking soda.
  3. Add 0.5 cup of cubed butter to the mixture and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Reserve 1.5 cups of the mixture, then press the remaining mixture into the bottom of the baking dish to form the crust.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together 1 cup of peanut butter, 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. Pour the peanut butter mixture over the crust and spread evenly. Sprinkle 1 cup of chocolate chips on top.
  7. Distribute the reserved oat mixture evenly over the filling and press down lightly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, until lightly golden around the edges.
  9. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before lifting them out and slicing into squares.
  10. Serve the bars on a platter or in individual wraps.
